With family roots in the Lancashire mills, and a hand weavers here in Tuamgraney, I didn’t have to go far for inspiration. This spalted oak carving wraps around all four sides, depicting a scarf, shuttle and ball of yarn. Approx 4ft long.

There are two types of bowl I mostly carve. These are either the salad bowl, based on early dug out canoes (finished in walnut oil), and supplied with paddle/oar servers. Or the more sculpted fruit bowls based on boat wrecks. (finished in Danish oil).
A tower to Heaven. Carved of spalted oak. Approx 2ft tall.

This spalted oak carved harp has five strings. The tuning pegs are made from old ebony piano keys and the string pins at the top are wittled from bog oak. Approx 4ft tall.
The caduceus is the symbol of medical things. Usually represented with wings at the top and two serpents spiralling down around a staff. This tusk like representation, with its molar like roots of the serpents tales would be veering towards a dental theme. Spalted oak. Approx 4ft long.
Marker post with ogham inscription. The ogham script is read from the bottom left side, up the corner edge, along the top and down the right. Its the oldest known script in Ireland. Carved in oak, these posts make great pet grave markers or personalised house name posts. Approx 4ft tall.
